Rio Rancho, NM – Today, Sandoval County Commissioner Jay Block is proud to announce the endorsement of Valencia County Sheriff Denise Vigil.

Sheriff Vigil is a passionate public servant with twenty years of law enforcement experience and four years as Sheriff of Valencia County.

In a statement endorsing Block, Vigil had this to say:

“I am proud to endorse Jay C. Block for Governor of New Mexico. Jay is a good man and Air Force Veteran who brings a wealth of experience and leadership; which is necessary to make the changes required to move New Mexico forward. Jay supports Law Enforcement and is committed to making New Mexico a safer place to raise a family. Jay’s attitude and energy are what New Mexico needs!”

Block responded, “I am continuing to receive the support from the law enforcement community across New Mexico because they know I am the most pro-law enforcement and first responder candidate in the race for Governor. Sheriff Vigil is my fifth Sheriff endorsement to date, far exceeding any other candidate.”

“I thank Sheriff Vigil for her support and will continue to fight for her, her deputies, and the heroes across the state who keep us safe. At a time when our law enforcement community is continually under attack, New Mexico needs strong leaders who will back the blue,” he concluded.

After winning the NMGOP Pre-Primary Convention last month, gaining the endorsements of numerous Sheriffs and other elected leaders across the state, and winning several straw polls, Jay is positioning himself as the consensus favorite to remove Michelle Lujan Grisham from office in November.
